The Pharmaceutical Education in Uzbekistan has 2 levels now - Bachelor degree and Master degree. Higher pharmaceutical education is based on the pharmaceutical, chemical, medical-biological and special disciplines. The Tashkent Pharmaceutical Institute trains specialists on the following bachelor directions:
• Management (Pharmacy)
• Pharmaceutical analysis and pharmacognozy
• Technology of immunobiologic and microbiologic preparations
• Industrial technology of medicines

After receiving the Master's degree the professional education is realized through the post-graduate and the doctor's degree education on the following specialties:
15.00.01 - technology of drugs and organization of pharmacy
15.00.02 - pharmaceutical chemistry and pharmacognozy.
The need in specialists which are able to compete is provided by the pharmacists' improving qualification system by means of organizing out and in courses on the following directions:

An educational-industrial complex equipped with up-to-date technological apparatus is functioning at the institute. There are 8 computer classes, an information technologies and distance learning centre, a library with 4 reading rooms and a computer class at the institute. All computer classes are connected with "Internet" on the allocated line.
For the years of its existence the institute has become not only the centre of the pharmaceutical education but the centre of science. At present parallel with step by step realizing new concept of higher pharmaceutical education the purposeful researches on urgent problems of pharmacy are being developing, they are:
- developing technology of perspective wild medicinal plants growing;
- developing technology of drugs on the basis of local raw materials and their biopharmaceutical investigation;
- coordinative compounds synthesis and developing drugs on their basis;
- organization and economy of pharmacy.
The Scientific Centre for drugs standardization equipped with up-to-date unique apparatus has been organized at the institute. It helps both home and foreign producers, drugs researchers in the scientific-technical documentations developing. At present 20 preparations have been instilled into medical practice by the institute.

The professor-teachers staff numbers about 200 employers, 30 of them are doctors and 100 candidates of sciences.
