According to National Program of Personnel Training the post-diploma education is a compulsory part of the continuous education process.
The faculty of improvement in pharmacists' skill of the Tashkent Pharmaceutical Institute conducts the post-diploma education of the pharmacists of the republic.
Nowadays the faculty includes the following courses:
urgent problems of pharmacy and pharmaceutical institutions economics
urgent questions of pharmaceutical practice
technology of medicinal forms
drugs quality control
technology of sterile drugs manufacture
urgent problems of using medicinal plants in pharmaceutical practice
specialization of forensic chemists-experts
improvement in skill of medical colleges pharmacy department teachers
The duration of each course is 4 weeks; every year 5 courses are organized
outside the institute.In the academic year of 2006-2007 improvement in skill of "Uzfarmsanoat" concern specialists was organized in this faculty.
Opening new urgent courses is planning in 2007, among them are:
technology of homoeopathic drugs
technology of cosmetic practice drugs
problems of drugs whole-sale trade
improvement in skill of medical colleges general chemistry teachers
The teachers of improvement in pharmacists' skill faculty have published 3 text-books: "Pharmaceutical Technology Principles" (2001), "Summary Preparations Technology" (2001), "Sterile Solutions Technology" (2003); 17 teaching and methodic manuals including the courses "Pharmaceutical Institutions Economics and Urgent Problems of Pharmacy" (3), "Technology of Drugs" (3), "Technology of Sterile drugs" (1), "Drugs Quality Control" (6), "Urgent Problems of Using Medicinal Plants in the Pharmaceutical Practice" (4).
Great attention is paid to using computer programs in the training process. With this purpose the teaching hand-books and electronic text-books have been worked out. Distance teaching method is introduced into practice and with this aim the site farmasevt.uz has been opened in Internet. The training program includes the lectures texts, laboratorial and practical lessons, methodic manuals for self-training. Using the system of tuition by day-time and by correspondence is planning within the framework of distance training program.
The faculty of improvement in pharmacists' skill was honoured with the diploma of the First National Exhibition of Information Technologies (September 26-28, 2006, Tashkent).
The faculty of improvement in pharmacists' skill gives systematic practical help (seminars on specialities and others) to medical colleges in Tashkent named after Yu.Akhunbabaev, in Margilan, Samarkand and Nukus.
